As a huge fan of the animated "Star Wars: Droids" TV show and comic books, I totally loved the eight-issue comic book series "Star Wars: Droids" by Marvel Comics, which ran from 1986 to 1987. It's based on the animated show that unfortunately got canceled shortly after the comic series started. Fun fact – while the show was set around 15 BBY, the comic series was initially set between 10 and 6 BBY. The series wrapped up with a cool semi-adaptation of "A New Hope" from R2-D2 and C-3PO's perspective. Oh, and did you know that according to The Droids Re-Animated blog series, issues 1–5 actually took place before the animated series? That explains why characters like Tig Fromm and Vlix Oncard showed up in the second issue of the comic. They were handed over to Jabba the Hutt in the last episode of the first TV story arc, creating a neat link between the TV show and the comic series. So cool, right?
